Digital bookkeeping - what is it?

Digital accounting refers to a digital accounting programme that helps you keep track of everything related to accounting such as invoicing, expenses, receipts, VAT and deadlines from SKAT.

Why a digital accounting programme?

A digital accounting programme replaces many older accounting methods by giving you access to your accounts through an online platform. Many digital accounting programmes also offer a mobile app, which makes it easier for users to upload receipts and send invoices on the go, and can also ensure that your invoices are posted correctly in your accounts. 

Having a digital accounting programme has become especially relevant after the Danish Parliament adopted a new Bookkeeping Act, which sets requirements for companies' use of an accounting programme. The new accounting law means, among other things, that paper receipts are no longer considered valid documentation for bookkeeping.
