Four years ago, Tholstrup Consulting Engineers chose to integrate Intempus into their company to more easily keep track of internal and external consultant hours. Today, the time tracking system helps administrative manager, Philina Tholstrup, maintain a complete overview of billable hours, while also making time logging more manageable for the consultants.

As a company that works on an hourly basis for other clients in the construction industry, it has been essential, according to their administrative manager, Philina Tholstrup, to have a system that could keep track of consultant hours and ensure accurate invoicing. Therefore, they chose to work with Intempus shortly after the company started 5 years ago.
“Our performance is our hours. Therefore, it was necessary to implement a time tracking system, so that the consultants could track their hours in a precise and transparent way, and so that I could get an overview of how much had been worked on a client in a specific period and so I could invoice clients on that basis. From low-practice to automatic system
Before Tholstrup Rådgivende Ingeniører had Intempus, they handled administrative tasks using Excel, but as the company grew from 2 to 3 and later 8 employees, it became clear to Philina Tholstrup that a more manageable and automated system was needed. Today, they have an integration with e-conomic, which, according to Philina Tholstrup, simplifies all aspects of the accounting and invoicing process.
“The integration between Intempus and e-conomic is excellent. It's easy, I can retrieve all the relevant information and reports I need. Compared to what I was doing before, with Excel, there's been a big difference” – Philina Tholstrup, Administrative Manager at Tholstrup Consulting Engineers.
For the employees too, it has been easy to let Intempus become a natural part of the workday. Gradually, as the staff has grown, they have introduced the system one by one, with the result that all consultants now use the system without any problems.
Support is crucial
For Philina Tholstrup, the aim has never been to get a “big and elaborate system that can do a thousand things.” Instead, she values a simple and straightforward solution that can meet all the company's needs in a completely uncomplicated way. At the same time, she sees personal support as crucial for a time tracking system that works.
“Whatever my questions are about, I've received a good answer. And that's particularly important to me, as I'm old-fashioned and don't like user manuals. I much prefer personal contact. And Intempus has always responded in a way that makes me feel it wasn't a ”stupid” question. They really have something special with their customer support,” says Philina Tholstrup.
If, for example, there is a need to extract larger and more complex reports and data from the system, or if she has a question about something more technical, Philina does not hesitate to call support for on-the-spot guidance.
“I'm not an IT whizz, so I need to be able to call support where it's not 300 people sitting there, where you're just a number and get a standard answer. With Intempus, I've felt helped from the very beginning in a really great way,” explains Philina Tholstrup.
Although the handling of billable hours is what the company primarily uses Intempus for at the moment, Philina is not closed off to the idea of utilising more of Intempus’ features in the future, for instance, if the company continues to grow:
“Right now, Intempus can do everything I need, but if we continue to grow, we might need more features later on,” concludes Philina Tholstrup.
