Lind & Risør employs 220 craftsmen who must be paid on time every fortnight. Previously, it took up to 9 hours to process labourers' timesheets. With the introduction of Intempus, the company has halved the time spent on payroll and the payroll process has become less stressful.

For many years, Lind & Risør used physical timesheets in paper form to keep track of tradesmen's working hours and absences. Every fortnight, the craftsmen handed in their timesheets. And every fortnight, bookkeeper Dorthe Jaes spent up to nine hours first reading crow's feet scratched into a shed and then entering hours, holidays and illness into Lind & Risør's bookkeeping system. The hours also had to be entered into the correct construction case so that accounts could be prepared for the individual case.

“I was pretty busy every fortnight. On Mondays and Tuesdays, I hardly answered the phone, and I had to be completely cut off because I had to get it done - the salary had to be paid,” Dorthe Jaes explains.

The labourers' hours went through several layers before wages could be paid, leaving several opportunities for error. If the hours didn't add up, there was only one way to find out where the error lay: flipping through the stack of timesheets for the 220 employees.

“It was very manual,” says Dorthe Jaes.

Lind & Risør wanted to cut a layer from the payroll process and save time on payroll. This started the search for a digital time tracking system.

Why Intempus?

First and foremost, the time tracking system had to be easy for craftsmen to use on site. It should also be able to handle different employment terms, projects, cases, absence and holidays and synchronise with the Navision case system.

“And it had to be easy for me as an administrator,” says Dorthe Jaes.

She finds the Intempus administration page clear and easy to use. Intempus’ search function and the ability to sort reports allows you to quickly get an overview of the craftsmen's hours over the past 14 days.

“You quickly sort the columns and information you want to use for payroll, and once you've done that, you just scroll down the page,” she explains.

“And if there's something wrong, it's easy to find it again. If they register the hours on another case, I'll realise it. Then I can quickly find out and call them and say “Hey, on 15 March you registered hours on that project - is that correct?” says Dorthe Jaes.

Fewer errors and less stress with Intempus

Dorthe Jaes now experiences far fewer errors in the tradesmen's hours. The time registrations for Lind & Risør's craftsmen are now more accurate than they were with timesheets.

With the introduction of Intempus as part of their internal time tracking processes, the company has halved the time they spend on payroll for their craftsmen. Dorthe Jaes no longer has to be cut off every fortnight on Monday and Tuesday. Instead, she can keep an eye on whether the tradesmen's entries are correct and deal with any problems that may arise.

“And it's just made it less stressful, because there's more time on the day I'm doing payroll,” says Dorthe Jaes.
