“Time is money”. Ivan Mørch Hermansen is not the first to make this observation. It is precisely time that he has gained a lot more of since his reopened company, MKH Entreprise, started using Intempus.
It's probably difficult to put a figure on how many slips of paper with time reports Ivan Mørch Hermansen received between 2008 and 2013, when the excavators were running at his company MKH Entreprise. Once a week, notes would pour in from the 12 employees, and then Ivan could spend the weekend manually entering the information into the system and, every 14 days, doing payroll – also manually.
Until October 2018, the company was dormant, as Ivan Mørch Hermansen was employed as project manager elsewhere. But last year, he was given the opportunity to reopen MKH Entreprise because he suddenly had a three-year contract worth a double-digit million amount annually. And at that point, he knew the old analogue practices had to end. Now, employees and a digital system for time registration needed to be found. Ivan brought four men with him from his previous employer, and they knew exactly which system they preferred.
“It would be easy to handle. Over there, after just one day with Intempus, people said; “Wow, it's easy!”. And they were even a little afraid of digital. So when they thought it was easy, I knew that this was something I needed to get hold of,” says Ivan Mørch Hermansen in a North Jutland dialect that clearly remains, even though the company, residence, and tasks are located in Copenhagen.
Deep holes, high growth – and sovereign support
After just three months, the company today consists of 10 employees, in addition to Ivan and an office assistant. They make up a total of five digger teams, and Ivan Mørch Hermansen would like to give Intempus some of the credit for the company's ability to grow so rapidly in such a short time.
“I'm saving 90 percent of my time. That might even be an underestimate.”.
He also doesn't need to expend much effort concentrating on overtime payments, just as he optimally exploits the connection possibilities with integration to e-conomic and Dataløn. All invoices are digitised, which has also made the accountant's job easier. And should an error occur somewhere, help is at hand.
Intempus has had a big impact on how smoothly everything has gone. We work at many different times of the day and therefore use many types of additional payments. It's a bit complicated, and I've sometimes needed help to adjust it in Intempus. The support team handles that without any problems every time. They can even handle things in e-conomic for me, even though that's a completely different company,” - Ivan Mørch Hermansen, Owner of MKH Enterprise
Trust the system and save time
Ivan Mørch Hermansen estimates that with Intempus, he has saved 90 percent of the administrative time he previously spent on payroll and bookkeeping.
“That might even be an understatement,” he adds.
“Time is money, and these days I probably spend 10 minutes a day opening Intempus and approving hours. That number used to be several hours, and at the same time, everything is automatically transferred to Dataløn. That's where I really save many hours,” says Ivan Mørch Hermansen, who is also aware of the prerequisite for being able to minimise his time consumption so significantly.
“I can only save so much time by relying on the system. Otherwise, you spend just as much time as before – just checking if the system has done everything correctly. My view is simply that there is a greater risk of making mistakes manually than when everything is automated. So, it might be that the system makes an error, but inevitably there will be fewer errors than if I did everything manually. And once you've got it all set up correctly, then it just runs,” he concludes.
