Juggling a number of different customers and tasks requires an overview. That overview and a significantly easier invoicing process are some of the benefits Janni Nielsen from JN Bookkeeping has experienced since she started using Intempus.

Janni Nielsen and JN Bookkeeping are located in Odder in East Jutland. Since 2014, Janni Nielsen has helped a wide range of small and medium-sized companies through her sole proprietorship with everything from payroll to full accounting.

On a daily basis, she helps beauty salons and scrap dealers with their finances, but as more customers came in, Janni Nielsen needed a system that could help her keep an overview. This paved the way for a now 6-year-long collaboration with Intempus.

“I heard about Intempus at an e-conomic roadshow in 2016, and I thought it sounded really smart, so I had to try it,” she says, explaining that she wanted to get rid of some of the many manual processes in her daily work.

“I used to sit and write down every time I finished a task. I had some really smart excel sheets that I wrote it down in, but it became cumbersome when I started getting more customers,” she says.

She hoped that Intempus could make her work easier, especially when it came to invoicing.

“I wanted a system that could provide a better overview of how many hours were spent on different tasks. It was all about making invoicing easier”

Overview and time saving on invoicing

After three years with Intempus - which she mainly uses for time tracking that is converted into invoicing - Janni has no doubt that Intempus has helped ease some of the workflows in her everyday life.

“Intempus gives me a better overview, but also saves me time when it comes to work and especially administrative tasks. It also helps me keep track of how many hours I actually work. I save a lot of time by not having to enter in an Excel sheet first, find it again three weeks later to invoice and then enter it again manually. Now I have no doubts about anything because I registered it the moment I sat down with the task,” says Janni Nielsen.

This is precisely why Janni Nielsen believes that companies experience increased security in relation to invoicing when using Intempus.

“I don't want to cheat my customers, but I don't want to cheat myself either. When I've entered it continuously, I'm sure that I've entered the number of hours I've actually spent on the task.”

At the same time, Janni Nielsen believes that it is a clear advantage that Intempus can be integrated with payroll and financial systems such as e-conomic.

“I used to do a lot of manual work when it came to invoicing. Now all information goes directly from Intempus to e-conomic. It makes everything much easier, and it means that I have lightened some workflows” - Janni Nielsen, Bookkeeper and owner of JN Bogføring.

Easy to use

For Janni Nielsen, using Intempus has worked from day one. In fact, she hasn't experienced any challenges along the way, which she also attributes to the clear system.

“I think the system is very user-friendly and I like that. It's easy to use, and once it's set up, it plays really well,” she says.

The positive experience with Intempus also means that Janni regularly recommends the system to several of the companies she has as customers.

“It's a good system, and if my customers ask me what I think, I recommend Intempus. Especially when I have to do payroll, it makes my work easier if the customer uses Intempus. Then I can just pull up an overview and create the forms, instead of having to wait for the owner to collect the timesheets for the past four weeks, which they then have to register and enter into a form themselves,” says Janni Nielsen.

An advantage as an accountant

Janni Nielsen doesn't think it makes her redundant when her customers use Intempus, but that it is instead a strength.

“I see Intempus as a tool that allows me to do some other things in the companies. I can do some of the things that haven't yet been automated and may not be able to be automated. It gives me more time for the more exciting tasks,” she says.

Janni Nielsen continues to use Intempus, and she has no doubt that other bookkeepers can also benefit from trying the system - whether they have a larger company or a sole trader.

“Intempus is an advantage to use as an accountant because it gives you a better overview of how much you have worked on the different tasks. At the same time, it makes it significantly easier when you need to invoice. If you have employees, it provides an easy overview of what has been done. An overview that would take much longer to create if you had to do it yourself without Intempus” - Janni Nielsen, Bookkeeper and owner of JN Bogføring.
