Clear, digital administration

NPC Malerfirma ApS has been digital since its foundation in 2005. Today, time registration and project management are handled through IT, which has made manual entry redundant and ensured proper documentation for the customer.

When René Lohpehre started as a self-employed painter in 2005, the vision for the administrative side of the business was clear. It had to be done electronically. And it needed to be continuously streamlined.

Two years later, René Lohpehre got his first employees. Suddenly there were more hours, invoices and payslips to keep track of, which made the need for clear administration even greater. So he decided to upgrade his time and project management.

“The reason we choose to run time registration digitally is the amount of resources it saves us. It's usually my time that is saved, because I'm the one doing the administrative work.” - René Lohpehre, Owner of NPC Malerfirma

Easy documentation for the customer

”We have almost always used digital time tracking in my company. Either by email, by phone or via direct entry in various project programmes. We've never actually used physical timesheets,” says owner René Lohpehre.

When NPC Malerfirma started using e-conomic, René came across Intempus. Soon after, the journeymen started recording their work on the go.

”There are two reasons why I use mobile time tracking. One is that it's easy to document to the customer what you've spent your time on. The other is that it can save some administrative time,” explains René Lohpehre.

Eliminates the need for manual input

Time is an important factor when a business owner has to handle many different tasks during a working day. That's why it makes a world of difference to René that the journeymen record their time on the go, rather than him entering the hours manually.

”The reason we choose to run it digitally is the amount of resources we save by doing so. It's usually my time that's saved, because I'm the one doing the administrative work. And it's just easier for my people on site to enter the hours, so I only have to approve their reports,” he elaborates.

Swedes are in charge

It's also less hassle for René that the journeymen are responsible for registering accurately and on time. This means fewer discussions when the wages are paid.

”If an error should occur in the reports, it's much better that it's the employees who have entered the hours rather than me. Then the responsibility for entering the hours correctly rests primarily on their shoulders,” emphasises René Lohpehre.

Better at making offers

Much of the work in the painting industry is based on quotes. According to René Lohpehre, if you have no idea how many hours you spend on each job, tendering can easily be based on random, outdated estimates.

”Most of all, Intempus serves as an important internal digital project management tool that gives a good overview of how many hours we spend on each case. It makes me better at giving quotes,” he concludes.
